My client is looking for a new Sous chef. They are offering 24k and yes it might seem low but here the reason why.
They are a lovely country hotel in somerset and need a bit of a break. They had some really and I mean really bad chefs in there who have turned the place upside down.
Why, Because they could but now they left the hotel. Well, they cant now. My client is offering 24k to work in the kitchen with
2 fryers. 2 ovens and a 6 top burner. Put out some great food and make a name for the hotel and of course yourself!
They can offer live in with a small single hotel room that has a washing machine and dryer (not in the room, that be silly would it not?), Free food and to honest but don’t tell anyone but they let you have a steak or two a week and including ribeye. They give you a pint after work every night but you will end up with a large bar bill. You will cook for no more than 30 per night unless you have a function and then it might be 31
My point is that 24k is not a lot but jokes aside, You can really go for it here and cook your heart out, try new things and don’t be worried about food waste. The owners are down to earth and just want sous to join the new head to really make something of this wonderful gem in the countryside plus they really do let you eat the steak!
